Jones suffered multiple fractures to her arm in January 2000. She also reportedly suffered from epilepsy, however this is denied by her sisters as they claim that it was a move by her to gain attention.

After deciding to enter the hard-core porn industry, she signed an exclusive contract with adult film-making company New Sensations, followed by another contract with Vivid Entertainment. Neither association lasted very long, and rumors circulated about Jones' "difficult nature." She was allegedly released by Vivid for her use of prescription drugs; again, specific details are elusive.

She worked briefly as an escort, during which time she claimed to have numbered Charlie Sheen and Woody Harrelson among her clients. Jones' claims were met widely with disbelief, in part because she sold her "story" of Sheen to a tabloid. Denise Richards later filed a restraining order against Sheen in which she believes that Sheen was in fact a client of Jones. In the restraining order filing, she states Sheen never denied seeing Jones. She further states that when she questioned Sheen about his possible involvement in Jones' death, he repeatedly responded by saying "no comment." Speaking exclusively to American tabloid the Globe, Donna Jones says, "I've seen a lawyer about filing a wrongful death suit against Mr. Sheen. I think he didn't slip her the pills -- but he drove her to it with death threats.

"She'd (Chloe) call me 10 times a day telling me of her fears. She was terrified to death of the guy." An unsubstantiated report states that she was beaten badly by one of her customers, resulting in a trip to the ICU and the decision to leave escorting and return to films.

Before she was able to make her comeback, however, her health began to fail; she died less than two weeks before her thirtieth birthday. Very little information about her death was publicly released, except that the official cause was attributed to liver failure.

She was buried at Woodlawn Garden of Memories in Houston, Texas
