Emilie de Ravin (born December 27, 1981) is an Australian actress currently starring in the hit ABC drama Lost as the character Claire Littleton. She resides in Los Angeles, California and spends most of the year commuting back and forth between Oahu, Hawaii where the show is filmed.
De Ravin was born in Mount Eliza, Victoria, Australia. Having studied ballet since the age of nine, she was accepted into the highly selective Australian Ballet School at fifteen. There, she performed in productions with the Australian Ballet Company as well as Danceworld 301. De Ravin studied acting at Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art, and with the Prime Time Actors Studio in Los Angeles.
De Ravin, whose first name is pronounced like "Emily", was previously best known for her role as alien/human hybrid Tess Harding on the teen drama Roswell. She landed this role one month after moving to Los Angeles at the age of 18.
In June 2006, de Ravin married actor Josh Janowicz.
