Isla Lang Fisher (born on February 3, 1976 in Muscat, Oman to Scottish parents) is an Australian actress and author.
She debuted on Australian television in 1993, playing Robyn Devereaux on Paradise Beach. Her breakthrough role was as Shannon Reed on Home and Away, which she played from 1994-1997. During this time, she wrote two books, Seduced by Fame and Bewitched.
In 2002, she had a part in Scooby-Doo as Mary-Jane, Shaggy's love interest. A larger role in Wedding Crashers in 2005 won her the Breakthrough Performance Award at the MTV Movie Awards.
In 2006 she starred as Becca, a Manhattan party host in the offbeat relationship drama London alongside Jessica Biel, Chris Evans and Jason Statham.
Fisher now resides in Los Angeles with her fiancé British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, known for his role as Ali G. She has pledged to convert to Judaism in order to marry Cohen, who himself is Jewish.
She was officially crowned 1000th guest on Australian talk show Rove Live on August 2, 2005. She was visiting the show to promote the film Wedding Crashers with co-star Owen Wilson. She entered the set ahead of Wilson, thereby winning the title by a mere two meters.
