Laura Vandervoort (b. September 22, 1984, Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is a French Canadian actress.
Vandervoort is the granddaughter of Fred Sanger, a local hockey legend from Grand Falls-Windsor who went on to play Junior 'A' hockey with the Quebec Citadelles. She graduated from York Mills Collegiate Institute in North York, Ontario. She made her American debut in the Disney Channel Original Movie Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire in 2000.
Vandervoort plays Sadie Harrison on Instant Star. While filming the episode "18" from the third season, she met current boyfriend, Corey Sevier, who had a guest spot on the show. Ironically, in the episode, his character - assuming she was dating his enemy - tried to kill her character.
She has also appeared on CSI and The Dresden Files.
In 2007, she was added to the seventh season cast of Smallville as Kara Kent aka Supergirl, Clark Kent's Kryptonian cousin.
