Nichols was born to Hungarian and Mexican American parents. and raised in Chicago, Illinois. At 12, she started experimenting with drugs and alcohol, and became sober at 17. She is an active advocate of Criminion, an international non-profit organization that provides rehabilitation for people in prison. She became a member of Church of Scientology when she was introduced to it by her chiropractor. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
